This game can be addicting but the offline "partner" is extremely frustrating. It holds cards and allows you to lose on multiple occasions instead of just playing the hands. I literally watch it get granted several piles and it holds onto everything regardless if it has matches to play or not. I get strategizing holding cards here and there to make sure you have enough to go out but this "partner" just isn't helpful. I've almost rage uninstalled several times. It also has way too many ads.

This is a very good version of Canasta. I'm going to go ahead and give it five stars for being free and high quality, with not too much AI manipulation and a good screen layout. There are ads only after you finish a hand, but they are not obnoxious. There are also a fine variety of card backs and backgrounds. And another thing - they don't bug you to leave a review, in fact I had to go seek this out to leave feedback, which shows you how much I like this particular developer's game. 🙂

The rules of canasta are not followed! I'm so mad I paid for a year of this app. Opponents are able to pick up the discard pile by matching the top card with a melded set on the table (and none in their hand), but my team cannot do the same. The algorithm definitely favors dealing the opponents a better starting hand (I am dealt all single cards with no ability to pick up the pile by having a pair, whereas the opponents are dealt pairs 80% of the time). The points for black 3s is also wrong!
